Packing Fragile Items Safely for Long Hauls

Protect your valuables like a pro:

• Wrap each item individually: Use bubble wrap, foam sheets, or packing paper to protect dishes, glassware, electronics, and décor. Don’t stack unprotected items directly against each other.

• Use dish pack boxes for plates/glass: These specially designed boxes include dividers and extra padding to reduce breakage during transit—especially across long distances.

• Fill empty space with packing paper: Prevent movement inside the box by filling gaps with crumpled paper or soft cloth. This reduces impact and vibration damage during the trip.

• Mark boxes clearly: Label boxes as “FRAGILE” on all sides, indicate which side is up, and note the room they belong to (e.g., Kitchen – Fragile Glassware). This ensures careful handling and organized unpacking.

Use sturdy, double-walled boxes: For packing fragile items, flimsy or reused boxes increase risk. Choose durable, reinforced cartons to ensure added protection during long hauls.

Seal tightly with quality packing tape: Reinforce box bottoms with multiple layers of tape to prevent collapsing and secure lids tightly to avoid spills.
